Egyptian Public Prosecution summoned artist Sabri Abdel Moneim to conduct investigations on his case

The Egyptian Public Prosecution summoned the prominent artist Sabri Abdel Moneim to conduct investigations on the fraud he was victim of, by one of his old friends, to identify the perpetrators.

Mokattam Police Department in Cairo Governorate had previously received a complaint from the artist, stating that he had been subjected to a fraud by an old friend of his, along with others, who had seized his “apartment” and issued a forged check for him.

According to the Egyptian newspaper Veto, it was found through the gathered information and criminal research that there was 10 suspects behind the fraud, and that 5 of them had previous criminal records.

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Mokattam Police Department also managed to arrest 4 of the suspects, who confessed to the fraud charge.

In their confessions, they affirmed that they issued a forged check to him, forged the contract of the artist’s apartment, and sold it to another person, without his knowledge.

The criminal investigation team continues its intensive investigations to arrest the rest of the suspects, and bring them before the Public Prosecution, which is still leading investigations.

In his statements to Vito, Sabri Abdel Moneim confirmed that the apartment was the only estate he was able to obtain throughout his work in the field of art since 1971, that he had no other property, and that he wanted to sell it to leave an inheritance to his children.
