Within the framework of the cultural and entertainment cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ukraine, ITALIA FILM, MUVI CINEMA and FILM.UA Group are preparing to launch the premiere of the animated film “Mavka Song of the Jungle” on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in Uwalk, with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in Riyadh, before it takes place. It will be shown widely across the country on March 2, 2023.
The film revolves around the story of Mavka, the spirit of the forest, a powerful and unique protagonist of a classic literary fantasy that blends ancient Slavic mythology with modern fantasy and new 3D animation techniques. The filmmakers also drew inspiration from ancient traditions and rituals, authentic visual symbols in costumes and folk melodies of the Slavic peoples, and from the classic fantasy drama of the Ukrainian poet Lisa Ukrainka.
Mafka, THE FOREST SONG, is a Ukrainian cinematic project for all ages that expresses a magical love story and the power of people to reveal their abilities to overcome the possibility of facing human evil. A village traditionalist, her feelings force her to face an impossible choice between love and her duty to protect her world.
