The Egyptian Film Critics Association is organizing a special celebration for the fiftieth anniversary of its founding, at 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at the Hanager Cinema, at the Cairo Opera House.
The celebration witnesses the honoring of the great director Hashem Al-Nahhas, the honorary president of the association, and a number of the association’s oldest members in membership, namely: the great critic Ahmed Abdel-Al, the great critic Kamal Ramzy, the great critic Magda Morris, the great director Yousry Nasrallah, the great scriptwriter Bashir Al-Deek, the critic The great Magda Wasef and the great director Magdy Ahmed Ali.
The celebration also witnesses the honoring of a number of directors who have won the best film award more than once in the referendum organized by the association annually since its inception. Director Khairy Bishara, and director Mohamed Amin, who each won the award twice.
The celebration also witnesses honoring the name of the late great critic Mohsen Waifi, the former president of the association, who devoted his life to serving the association.
On the sidelines of the celebration, the special issue of “Al-Film” magazine, which was issued in celebration of the association’s golden jubilee, will be distributed.
