A rich experience in the field of drawing faces (portraits), during which the young woman, Duha Hammoud, presentedFrom Tartous governorate, she has many distinguished paintings that she started from a young age and are still continuing to give until today.

Regarding her adoption of the art of portraiture without turning to other drawings, such as nature, for example, despite her love for her, the young artist Hammoud, 24, explained to the SANA Youth Bulletin that nature, life and love are things that cannot be drawn according to her expression because she tells her own story, and it is not embodied in a cartoon or a picture.

As for the tools that Hammoud uses in drawing, she explained that they depend on pencil, charcoal and colors, pointing out that the passion she possesses and her love for drawing made her forget to set her watch at the moment of starting and finishing the drawing, as each painting takes about 20 hours of hard work and fatigue.

Although Hammoud is a graduate of information and communication technology engineering, she believes that this field is not far from art, but rather a deep link between them, as I mentioned.

Hammoud noted the support of her parents over the past years for her talent in the art of portraiture and their constant encouragement to her in order to continue, as she had extensive participation in the pioneer competitions and won first place in them at the governorate level.

In addition to mastering the art of portraiture, Hammoud learned the Diwani calligraphy to give her paintings more brilliance, stressing that the calligraphy has its charm and attractiveness, which prompted her to enter letters in her paintings, to receive requests for such paintings.

Hammoud’s talents were not limited to drawing and calligraphy, but she said: “She cares about everything related to numbers and the development of mental abilities, so she mastered mental arithmetic and devoted some of her time to teaching children drawing, calligraphy and arithmetic,” indicating that the small amounts she gets from her training provide her with some of her needs and drawing supplies. She also markets her paintings through her pages on communication sites and special requests.

Concerning an aspiration that is still pending, Hammoud concluded: I aspire to become very experienced in the art of portraiture, and to hold special exhibitions and attend the exhibitions of major artists to benefit from their experiences
