Tunisian novelist “Night of Doubt” is in the final list of books nominated for the Orange Book Prize 2023

The novel “The Night of Doubt”, published in French by Demeter Publications, was selected as one of the five nominated books for the Orange Book Prize in Africa at its fifth session.

Tunisian writer Bashbar Garbouj was nominated to the final list, which includes novelist Lamine Benalou from Algeria, Ibrahima Heine from Senegal, Anzata Takara from Ivory Coast, and Michel Rakotoson from Madagascar.

In this novel, he narrates the life of an exile in Paris, where he works at home in the morning and a translator in the evening, wanders around the big city, when he meets in a tavern, the young woman, Sima, who works there, and she is a young woman, full of vitality and activity, and that meeting was a cause of destabilization. His being and the scattering of his life is a novel that combines “passion and amazement, where the conflict between generations reveals many problems.”
