Carrefour Celebrates its 20th Anniversary in Egypt

Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Egypt, is celebrating 20 years of delivering exceptional value and unparalleled shopping experiences to the Egyptian community. The leading retailer has announced its upcoming promotional period from 1 January – 14 February, which will offer exceptional deals across a wide range of products and brands.

Carrefour is launching three waves of promotions, providing discounts of up to 52 per cent across various categories including electronics, household items and fresh food, Additionally the brand is offering installment payment plans at zero per cent interest across all stores.

Philippe Peguilhan, Country Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Egypt, stated: “We are thrilled to be celebrating our 20-year mark in Egypt with our anniversary campaign, offering our customers the best deals at competitive prices, At Carrefour we believe in our role as a responsible member of the community, even in the face of the current market challenges. With that being said, we are proud to have established a strong network of local suppliers who contribute to 85 per cent of our products, and continue to play an integral role in maintaining price stability and supporting the local economy. Building on the success of last year’s anniversary – which witnessed an impressive EGP 2.3 billion in sales, with a growth rate of 40 per cent in value, and an 89 per cent increase in e-commerce sales compared to the previous year –we expect this year’s campaign to be bigger and better than ever.”

A testament to its commitment towards creating elevated shopping experiences for its customers, Carrefour will be installing collection points outside of stores with the highest traffic and dedicating specific cash counters for heavy household items, to help manage traffic.

Carrefour has implemented set measures to ensure stock availability. These include regularly monitoring stock levels and expanding storage units and facilities by continuously restocking all products, in addition to working closely with its local supplier network.
