The Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh will host the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank from 22 to 26 May 2023 under the title “Mobilizing Private Sector Financing for Climate and Green Growth in Africa”.
The African Development Bank said in a statement that this meeting will help the governors establish a dialogue and discuss the challenges faced by African countries to attract private sector financing in low-carbon investments.
The bank also stressed that these meetings will shed light on the practical policies that governments can adopt to overcome these difficulties.
The annual meetings of the African Development Bank Group, as one of the most important events organized by the bank, attract about 3,000 participants from representatives of bilateral and multilateral development agencies, academics, non-governmental organizations, civil society and the private sector.
The Annual Meetings program includes organizing meetings for African Development Bank Governors, Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors from about 81 member countries.
