Basil Rahmi, CEO of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises Development Agency, called on owners of private cars, taxis and microbuses to benefit from the flexible financing mechanisms provided by the Enterprise Development Agency to convert cars to run on natural gas, within the framework of the presidential initiative to convert cars to run on natural gas, calling on citizens to go to Car transfer centers for Cargas and Gastec companies of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to take advantage of the advantages of the initiative.

Rahmi praised the continuous support provided by Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Tarek El-Molla to implement the project to convert cars to work on dual fuel and encourage citizens to benefit from the advantages and facilities provided by both the ministry and the agency in this context.

This came on the sidelines of the signing of two contracts between the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the Enterprise Development Agency, at a value of 200 million Egyptian pounds, to expand the number of beneficiaries from the Egyptian presidential initiative to convert cars to run on natural gas, and to continue financing strategic projects with an economic and environmental dimension.

Rahmi stressed that this project contributes to preserving job opportunities for workers in the field of transportation (taxis / taxis) by increasing the income of the target groups by achieving economic savings for drivers that exceed 55%. It also helps small projects that use cars in their business cycle to reduce expenses. operation and reduce its dependence on gasoline.

He added that the use of natural gas leads to a significant reduction in air pollutant emissions, which helps in preserving the environment, as well as reducing the import bill for gasoline.

The CEO of the Enterprise Development Agency indicated that the agency has set up an appropriate mechanism to pay the cost of converting cars to run on natural gas, in a manner that does not represent a financial burden on car owners, so that they can pay the conversion cost through installments ranging from one year to five years as a maximum, provided that it is paid at gas stations. Supply of the two companies (Car Gas or Gastec) or through Fawry outlets.

It is worth noting that the documents required to transfer cars are limited to the car license, personal card, and a receipt for proof of residence. The car is inspected at the centers of Car Gas and Gaztec companies to ensure that the engine capacity is not less than 70%, and the conversion process does not exceed four hours.
