Eygpt: Imported goods worth 32 billion dollars cleared from different ports

Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait on Sunday said that imported goods worth 32 billion dollars have been cleared from the different ports throughout the past five months.

A top priority has been given to basic commodities, manufacturing components and drugs, in order to ensure the a full capacity production processes and reduce burden on importers by cutting down fines, reducing the customs clearance time, as well import and export costs, the minister said in statements.

Meanwhile, Head of the Egyptian Customs Authority El-Shahat Ghatori said state of readiness has been stepped up at ports nationwide, with a view to expedite the customs release of commodities and avoid backlogs of imported goods.
