Hajj Expo discusses increasing hotel rooms to ensure the quality of housing services for pilgrims

Ibrahim Al-Rashed, Executive Director of Asset Management at Rouaa Al-Madina Holding Company, announced that the company aims to provide more than 46,000 hotel rooms, and many commercial and entertainment sites by 2030 around the Noble Prophet’s Mosque.

He explained that the development investment projects that are being implemented aim primarily at enriching the experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors to Madinah and improving the quality of services provided to them, adding that Visions of the City is working on establishing and developing pioneering projects in Madinah, signing with a number of designers for the project sites, and bringing in international operators. project services.

He emphasized that the project aims to improve services in the housing and hospitality sector by facilitating the movement of pilgrims from the project to the Haram by separating pedestrians and cars, and providing dedicated walking paths along the project leading to the Prophet’s Mosque, in addition to the project’s keenness to sustain services in it and support innovation.

This came as part of the work of the main session of “Expo Hajj 2023”, whose work was launched on Monday under the auspices of the Governor of Makkah Region, Khaled Al-Faisal, entitled: “Housing and hospitality services, ensuring the quality of services and raising the capacity”, and the session was moderated by the head of the strategy and performance follow-up sector in the Kidana Development and Development Company Dr. Muhammad bin Jamil Hakim.

The session began with an introduction to the efforts made by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which is working to provide housing and hospitality services, in line with the increasing numbers of pilgrims and Umrah performers, and to raise the capacity in the holy sites and ensure the safety and comfort of the guests of Rahman, and to introduce development and urban projects in the Jabal Omar region.

The Director General of the General Administration of Housing and Services at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Omar bin Hisham Mandoura, stated during his participation in the session that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is working to develop systems and procedures to ensure the quality of services provided in the housing and hospitality sector, indicating that the General Administration of Housing and Services in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah pays attention Superior to the guests of Rahman, and is keen to understand his needs and desires to cooperate with the competent authorities to solve these challenges and meet aspirations.

He also talked about the efforts of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to create a balance between providing good services in the housing and hospitality sector at reasonable prices commensurate with the different segments of the pilgrims and with high quality that meets the satisfaction of the pilgrims and ensures that they perform their rituals with peace and ease.

For his part, the CEO of the Jabal Omar Development Company, Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Amoudi, indicated that the Jabal Omar Company was honored to implement the state’s plans – may God support it – in transforming the slums in Makkah Al-Mukarramah into advanced models, explaining that the project started by adding more hotel rooms within the work phase. The first, and in the second phase, the company aims to build commercial markets and more hotels in order to enrich the experience of pilgrims, and work to raise the quality of services.

Salem bin Ali Al Aboud Al-Shahrani, Director of Operations and Operations for Accor Hotels Abraj Al-Bait in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, during his participation in the session, touched on the group’s operations plans in a way that contributes to achieving quality and competition in the services provided to pilgrims, indicating that the company works on three main axes: Proving the feasibility of investment to investors, ensuring the quality of service provided to pilgrims, and training Saudi human cadres.

Sarah bint Suleiman Qasim, Senior Vice President of Saudi Hotels in the JLL Group Middle East and North Africa, noted the group’s tendency to open specialized sections for Hajj and Umrah by conducting studies to reach a deeper understanding of the hospitality housing sector in Makkah and Madinah, reviewing the group’s efforts in providing services.
