Large Argentinian economic delegation on visit to Algeria

An Argentinian delegation composed of 46 businessmen and three experts is conducting a working visit to Algeria. A meeting will bring together, under one roof, representatives of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Chamber of Commerce of Argentina.

“The objective of this visit is the strengthening of the economic partnership between Algeria and Argentina, particularly in the field of industry and pharmaceutical production”, explained a press release from the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production.

Algeria and Argentina share a diplomatic relationship that dates back to the 1960s. During the Algerian War of Independence, Argentina provided political support to Algeria, and both countries established formal diplomatic relations in 1962. Since then, they have maintained cordial relations based on shared interests and mutual respect.

Bilateral relations between Algeria and Argentina have been strengthened by their cooperation in various fields. The two countries have signed numerous agreements to promote trade, investment, and cooperation in areas such as agriculture, energy, tourism, and education. Algeria is one of the largest markets for Argentine goods in Africa, with exports reaching more than $200 million in 2019. Argentina, on the other hand, has become an important partner for Algeria in the field of renewable energy, with several Argentine companies working on renewable energy projects in the country.

Moreover, Algeria and Argentina have aligned on various international issues. They both support the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement and advocate for a multipolar world order. They have also cooperated closely in international organizations such as the United Nations, the G77, and the Non-Aligned Movement, working together to address global issues.
