The Jordanian ambassador to Qatar, Zaid Mufleh Al-Lawzi, said that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 highlighted the host country’s ability to organize the best sporting version of this global event.
He stressed that Qatar was able to present the tournament in a more comprehensive manner, through the organization and arrangement that dazzled the world.
Al-Lawzi said in statements reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) today, Saturday, that the State of Qatar presented an honorable civilized image of all Arabs, through the activities it held to present sublime messages summarizing the importance of bringing people together and spreading a culture of peace and tolerance, noting that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is a source of pride for every Arab, after the great success it has achieved.
Al-Lawzi praised Qatari diplomacy, which has proven its distinguished role in consolidating the principles of international peace and security by encouraging the peaceful resolution of disputes, as this was evident in the role it played in many crises that have erupted in some countries or between countries in recent times.
He referred to the efforts made by Qatar in combating the spread of the Corona virus by securing vaccines and treatments and assisting some countries in developing test equipment in them, noting that Qatar has provided assistance to more than 80 countries and international organizations in this field.
Al-Lawzi appreciated Qatar’s role in providing humanitarian and medical aid to countries in need and focusing on helping children in particular, in addition to providing assistance to various United Nations programs, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
On the Qatari-Jordanian relations, Al-Lawzi said that Jordan and Qatar have well-established and distinguished historical brotherly relations, pointing out that there is a coordination aspect between the two countries on many regional and international issues of common concern, in light of the continuous development of relations in the economic, trade and investment fields.
He pointed out that Qatar and Jordan have always shared views on the importance of a peaceful solution to international crises, activating joint Arab action, and creating a regional environment full of opportunities and achievement, especially since the two countries consider the Palestinian issue as the first central issue, amid their emphasis on the need to find a real horizon for resolving the issue. The Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the embodiment of the independent Palestinian state, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital on the lines of June 4, 1967.
