Al-Sisi heads to Jordan to participate in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi heads to Jordan this morning, 12-20-2022, to participate in the second session of the “Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership”, with the participation of a number of neighboring and friendly countries.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President’s participation comes within the framework of Egypt’s support for brotherly Iraq’s return to its active and balanced role at the regional level, and its keenness to ensure its security and stability, as the conference seeks to build on the results of the first session of the Baghdad Conference held in August 2021, by discussing ways to enhance the course of constructive dialogue with the aim of resolving problems in the region, as well as creating appropriate conditions for establishing partnership, cooperation and economic integration between Iraq and neighboring countries and friendly countries.

The Spokesman added that the visit will witness a number of bilateral meetings of the President with the leaders participating in the conference, including with his brother, the Jordanian monarch, to consult on ways to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels, within the framework of the close and fraternal ties that unite Egypt and Jordan, and the keenness of the two brotherly countries to Strengthening cooperation between them and continuing intensive consultations on issues of common concern.

The President will also participate in a tripartite summit with both the Jordanian King and the Iraqi Prime Minister, which aims to support and deepen the distinguished historical relations between the three brotherly countries.
