king Abdullah meets the Iraqi Prime Minister

King Abdullah II met today, Tuesday, with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’a Al-Sudani and his accompanying delegation, on the sidelines of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its second session.

His Majesty the King pointed out that the conference aims to support Iraq, its sovereignty, security and stability, and develop cooperation mechanisms with it, in a way that enhances security, stability and economic integration in the region.

His Majesty expressed his pride in the level of solid relations between Jordan and Iraq and the two brotherly peoples, stressing the importance of continuing to expand bilateral cooperation.

The meeting dealt with developments in the region, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue, and it was emphasized to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of common concern.

For his part, the Iraqi Prime Minister expressed his condolences to His Majesty the King on the martyrs of duty from the Public Security Directorate, stressing that Iraq will continue to work with the Kingdom in combating extremism and terrorism.

Al-Sudani praised Jordan’s hosting of the second session of the Baghdad Conference, considering it an affirmation of the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Iraq’s security and stability.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials.
