Sudan: The Minister of Finance inaugurates the Salama wells project at a cost of more than 147 million

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, inaugurated, Saturday evening, the Al Salama Grocery Store, south of Khartoum, in cooperation with the Khartoum state government and the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company.

During his address to the inauguration of Bir Al-Salama, His Excellency said that the strategy of the Ministry of Finance is to provide basic services to citizens such as water, health and education.

The Minister of Finance called for the necessity of afforestation of the capital extensively so that it becomes a green capital, praising the efforts of the Governor of Khartoum State, Mr. Ahmed Othman Hamza, in providing basic services to the citizen.

On a related level, Mr. Ahmed Othman Hamza, the governor of Khartoum State, explained that the Ad Hussein area needs many services, stressing that every citizen has the right to drink clean water.

He added that there is a gap in the produced water. Whether from Nile sources or wells, pointing out that the state of Khartoum needs 3 million cubic meters per day, indicating that the product now available from the Nile stations and wells is 1,200,000 cubic meters.

revealing that there is a gap of 1,800,000 cubic meters. Hamza stated that the productivity of the Al-Salama well for groceries is 150 cubic meters per hour, indicating that the beneficiary areas are Al-Azhari squares 16-17, Al-Kababish squares 1,2,3 and Waad Hussein 1 and 2.

The governor mentioned that there is a special program for cleaning on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week, praising the participation of young people in the Khartoum State Development Conference, promising to solve health problems, thanking the federal government and the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company for financing development projects in the country.

In the same context, the director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Eng. Mubarak Ardol, stressed the importance of completing the rest of the wells, pointing to the need to deliver the Nile water to every citizen.

Ardol announced the opening of electricity projects in the Nile River, Port Sudan, Halfa and Gash villages in the coming days, revealing that the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company opened Zalingei and Nyala hospitals.

For his part, Mr. Mohamed Taher Omar, Director of Social Responsibility at the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, explained that the cost of the Ad Hussein wells project amounted to 147 million and 531 thousand pounds, indicating that the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company provides support and service to all Sudanese people.
