The Grand Imam, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, performed the Isha prayer in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque in the city of Madinah.
Despite having a designated place for Sheikh Al-Tayeb inside the Prophet’s Mosque, he expressed his desire to pray wherever he finds himself, as he mentioned.
The Private Secretariat of Sheikh Al-Azhar, Mr. Ahmed Mustafa, commented, saying, “Sheikh Al-Azhar performs the Isha prayer in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque, among the people, without any formalities.”
Furthermore, Mustafa added through his official Facebook account, “When I suggested to His Eminence, ‘Please come inside the mosque, there is a place for you,’ he replied, ‘This is my place. I pray wherever the prayer catches me.’ May Allah bless him and keep him as a role model.”
Mustafa also shared a series of photographs of His Eminence Imam Al-Tayeb during his evening prayer.
