UN delegation visits the devastated areas of eastern Libya

A UN delegation visited the municipality of Al-Bayda in eastern Libya to assess the needs of those affected by the floods that hit the area this month.

The UN delegation was headed by the Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs, Deputy Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya, Giorgia Giani, accompanied by a representative from the World Health Organization and the UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team.

The Al-Bayda Municipal Council said that this visit is part of a tour by the UN team to assess the most important requirements of the crisis in housing, food, rehabilitation, and reconstruction in the affected areas of the Green Mountain due to the floods and flash floods that hit it recently.
