Egyptian Healthcare Authority
The Egyptian General Authority for Health Care, chaired by Dr. Ahmed El Sobky, Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Assistant Minister of Health and Population of Egypt and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, launched a joint workshop entitled “Towards Excellence in Medical Facilities Management”, with the participation of a number of reputable entities. International excellence in the healthcare sector, including the Mayo Clinic Abu Dhabi, the Alameda Healthcare Group, and the Saudi Silat Company.
The Egyptian Health Care Authority indicated that the workshop was held in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, and with the participation of Dr. Nasser Al-Ayashi, CEO of the Mayo Clinic Abu Dhabi via Zoom technology, and Dr. Ahmed Imad Al-Din Al-Hamalawy, Executive Vice President of Saudi Silat, and Dr. Mazen Attia, Medical Director of Alameda Healthcare Group.
Al-Sobky stressed that the Egyptian comprehensive health insurance system has succeeded in restoring citizens’ confidence in government health services, proving that the use of primary health care services in family medicine centers and units has changed radically in the governorates of applying the system from 21% to 74% during the last three years of its implementation. He stressed that the coming period will witness greater progress in the field of family medicine and primary health care to reach international standards.
For his part, Dr. Nasser Al-Ayashi, CEO of the Mayo Clinic Abu Dhabi, indicated that Egypt has achieved a huge leap in the health care sector and comprehensive health reform that deserves praise, with the role of the Health Care Authority in developing health care in Egypt, and for the first time the Egyptian health sector adopts the philosophy of economic operation of health facilities.
Dr. Mazen Attia, Medical Director of Alameda Healthcare Group, affirmed his pride in the development of the health care system in Egypt by the NCA, stressing the group’s full readiness to cooperate for the integration of roles.
