In celebration of Emirati Children’s Day, representatives from the UAE government visited young Emirati patients undergoing care at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London. Professor Maha Barakat, Director General of the Frontline Heroes Office, delighted the children and their families with special gifts.

During this visit, Barakat stated: “On the occasion of Emirati Children’s Day, we wish all children a prosperous and healthy future, and look forward to the speedy recovery of the many brave, young heroes we met today.”

Ties between GOSH and the UAE have grown even closer since 2014 when H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, gave a ₤60 million gift to open the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children (ZCR) in London. ZCR is a partnership between GOSH, University College London and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
