A 4.2-magnitude earthquake hits Kahramanmaraş, Turkey

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit, Saturday noon, Kahramanmaraş, southern Turkey.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, AFAD, said in a statement that the earthquake occurred at 12:25 (GMT +3).

She added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.99 kilometers below the surface of the earth, and its epicenter was the district of “Andrin”.

On February 6, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, killing tens of thousands of people and leaving huge material damage
