Istanbul office

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced that the quadripartite negotiations between Turkey, Russia, Syria and Iran regarding the Syrian settlement may take place in the coming days.

“We had negotiations at the level of defense ministers, and it was planned to hold a meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers, but it was postponed,” Cavusoglu said at the conclusion of the international donors’ conference to help Turkey and Syria remove the effects of the earthquake, on Monday

He added, “I hope that it will be held in the coming days.”

He stressed that the settlement in Syria can only be through a peaceful solution while preserving the country’s territorial integrity.

It is noteworthy that the quartet meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers was scheduled to be held last week in Moscow, for the purpose of preparing for a ministerial meeting to discuss the normalization of relations between Turkey and Syria.

Cavusoglu said on Monday that the meeting was postponed at the request of the Russian side
