Biden hails Eli Lilly cutting insulin price, says others ‘should follow’

President Joe Biden on Wednesday praised US pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly for slashing its insulin prices and said it was now time for other drugmakers to follow suit.

Calling the announcement “huge news,” Democrat Biden in a tweet noted how Congress had capped insulin prices for seniors last year but said there was more work to do to reduce the costs for all Americans.

“Today, Eli Lilly is heeding my call. Others should follow,” the president said.
