Erdogan discusses with Al-Burhan the developments in Sudan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed, with the head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the recent developments in Sudan.

This came in a phone call between the two sides, on Tuesday, according to a statement by the Turkish Presidency Communications Department.

Erdogan expressed to Al-Burhan his concern about the increase in the number of victims and injured as a result of the “fratricidal fighting” in Sudan.

The Turkish president also informed Al-Burhan that if a decision is reached to start comprehensive negotiations in Sudan, his country is ready to host them.

Erdogan affirmed that Turkey will continue its efforts, in coordination with the United Nations, to secure the urgent humanitarian needs of the Sudanese people.

The two sides also discussed developments related to the security of Turkish citizens in Sudan, and their evacuation from there.

Since last April 15, clashes have continued in states in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, in which the two sides exchanged accusations of being responsible for them, after teams affiliated
