German newspaper: The West decides when to start negotiations, not Kiev

Political analyst Christoph Schiltz said in an article for the German newspaper Die Welt that the decision to determine when to start negotiations on the armistice is in the hands of the West itself, and it is it that decides, not the Kiev authorities.

He added: “It is quite possible that the government in Kiev will think differently and intend to continue fighting. However, contrary to official statements from the West, Ukraine is not a sovereign country, and of course it is not the one who decides when armistice negotiations should begin. This decision will be taken by the US president. Joe Biden and the leaders of Britain, France and Germany.

The article indicated that “many countries in the European Union and NATO will not wait for Ukrainian forces to regain lost lands by force, but will start negotiations with Russia, because they are accustomed to the idea of a truncated and dispersed Ukraine.”

The author of the article said: “The decisive question will be, what price will Kiev and the West pay in the end for the armistice, and there is no doubt that the price will be higher for peace negotiations.”

The political analyst also came to the conclusion that Ukraine’s membership in the European Union or NATO will not be possible or realistic at all, during the next 15-20 years.

Western politicians constantly talk about the necessity of Ukraine’s victory over Russia on the battlefield, and they are increasingly pouring weapons into the Kiev regime. The Kremlin counters that military aid will fundamentally not solve anything, but will only prolong the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
