Somalia: Calls to the country’s leaders for an immediate end to the renewed clashes in Puntland

 The Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Federal Parliament, Sheikh Adam Muhammad Nur Madobe.

called on behalf of the President of the Republic Tuesday evening, for an immediate and unconditional end to the unrest that erupted in the city of “Growe”, capital of Puntland state regional.

The Speaker of the People’s Assembly said that war is not a solution to the political process.

and at the same time called on dignitaries, politicians, businessmen and all sectors of civil society to play their role in ending the conflict and work for stabilizing the regions of Puntland state.

He urged the Speaker of the People’s Assembly to solve all that may lead to political differences through dialogue and sitting at the negotiating table.

For his part, His Excellency the Prime Minister, Mr. Hamzah Abdi Barre, sent his sad condolences to the families and relatives of the victims who died in the clashes that took place today in the city of Growe, the capital of Puntland state.

The prime minister called for an immediate end to the fighting, stressing that all differences should be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding.

“It is an unfortunate war, it is a senseless war in which relatives die on both sides, so I call for it to stop immediately,” he said.

He called on the Prime Minister to calm the situation, and to sit at the dialogue table immediately.
