Egypt.. The opening of the Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the New Administrative Capital

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, and Maryam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the country to the Arab League, inaugurated the first national championship competitions for the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, in the covered hall of the Sports City in the New Administrative Capital.

The tournament is organized by the Association (AJP) in cooperation with (FIT CLUB GROUP), on the 3rd and 4th of March, with the participation of 554 players.

The Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports welcomed all the participants in the tournament, which comes within the framework of fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE in various fields, including youth and sports, wishing success to the players in the tournament’s activities.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized Egypt’s hosting of various Arab, continental and international competitions in stadiums, indoor halls and all sports infrastructure in Egypt, which is established in accordance with international standards, and strives towards achieving success for these tournaments in terms of organisation, administration and technology.

The minister explained that hosting the sports city in the New Administrative Capital for many tournaments during the current period due to the diversity of its constructions that are compatible with the various championships in individual and team games, in addition to watching the participants in the New Administrative Capital project on the ground as one of the largest development projects that Egypt is witnessing under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Sobhi stressed that jiu-jitsu is one of the important sports adopted by the United Arab Emirates, stressing that the organization of the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Association Championship in Egypt comes within the framework of the philosophy of brotherhood, love and close relations between the two brotherly countries.

For her part, Maryam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador in Cairo, expressed her happiness at being present at the opening of the tournament in the new administrative capital, the future capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, thanking those in charge of organizing this important tournament.

The ambassador said: Since its founding in 1971, the United Arab Emirates has realized the great importance of sports of all kinds in achieving renaissance and development for the country, and has adopted this young sport for nearly 10 years because of its sublime principles in the judgment of the mind and the ability to self-control in addition to the health aspects. And physical and its role in strengthening social bonds and deepening the national side, noting that this sport flourished under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to become Abu Dhabi the world capital of this sport, and the UAE occupies a distinguished position in the Jiu-Jitsu championships.

She added that the jiu-jitsu experience in the UAE is an experience that deserves to be followed and emulated, and it is a model of success from the UAE to the world. Today, the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Championship is being organized in the land of Kinana, so that we share the paths of success with everyone who loves a challenge on the rug.

She explained that jiu-jitsu has become one of the most popular sports in the UAE, expressing her hope that this championship will contribute to the spread of jiu-jitsu in Egypt, but also in the region and the world.

This tournament is organized by the Abu Dhabi Association of Professional Jiu-Jitsu “AJP” and in cooperation with the “FIT CLUB GROUP” company, and under the umbrella of the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

For his part, Brigadier General Mohamed Shaarawy, President of the “FIT CLUB GROUP” company, confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour for Jiu-Jitsu professionals, to be held in the coming months in Egypt, aims to participate in 52 countries around the world, especially after the great success achieved by the National Championship of the Abu Dhabi Professional Association, and the cooperation The fruitful one with the UAE Federation, headed by His Excellency Abdel Moneim Al Hashemi, and the sponsorship appreciated by the Ministry of Youth.

He explained that Egypt currently includes more than 5,000 male and female players from a large number of clubs and academies, and this is a positive indication of the possibility of developing the game significantly in the future, especially since for the first time a large number of male and female players participate in the tournament, under this professional organization.

The organizing committee of the tournament dedicated the competitions of the first day to buds, cubs and masters, while the second day is in which professionals and amateurs compete. In the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of its series of championships around the world, which are more than 250 championships, which reflects the great passion for the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in the recent period in Egypt.

As for the first day’s competitions that were allocated to the buds and cubs, it witnessed the participation of a large number of male and female players representing clubs and academies, and was attended by a large number of fans and families of the players in the covered hall. Tomorrow, the professional and amateur competitions will be completed, with the participation of approximately 45 academies from 25 countries around the world. And a number of classified game stars and champions.
