For the fifth time.. Egypt crowned the world championship for women’s squash

The Egyptian national team won the World Women’s Squash Team Championship for the fifth time in its history, after defeating the American national team in the final match, 2-0, in the tournament, which was hosted by Madinaty Club, from 10 to 16 December.

Nouran Gohar advanced to Egypt over American Amanda Sobhi (3-2) in the first match, as a result of her runs: (11-7), (5-11), (10-12), (13-11), (11-8).

In the second match.. Nour El-Sherbiny defeated American Olivia Fichter, with a score (3-0). The sets came: (11-3), (11-4), (11-5).

This is the fifth time that the Egyptian national team has won the title, after winning the World Team Squash Championship for Women 4 times: 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2018.

Egypt’s list in the tournament included Nouran Gohar, Nour El-Sherbiny, Hania El-Hamami, and Nour El-Tayeb, and the team was led technically by Engy Khairallah.

It is worth noting that the tournament was attended by 17 teams: the United States of America, China, England, Japan, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Australia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Scotland, Wales, South Africa and Egypt.
