The UAE Karate Team won two medals in the Asian Championship for Men, Youth, Juniors and U-21, which is currently being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the participation of 781 male and female players representing 28 Asian countries.
The two medals were won by Fatima Khaseef, who won the gold medal in the kumite weight under 68 kg competition under 21 years old, and player Youssef Faridoni, who won the silver medal in the individual kata competition also under 21 years old.
The tournament, which is considered the strongest at the international level after the World Karate Championship, is receiving the attention of the President of the International Federation, his deputies and the heads of the federations of the countries participating in the tournament.
For his part, Major General / M / Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations, Vice President of the International Federation, praised the results of the Emirati players in the Asian Championship, and congratulated them on their great achievement that honored UAE Karate in the important Asian forum.
In a related context, the Asian Karate Federation, headed by Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razooqi, held a meeting of its general assembly, the Asian Federation Congress, on the sidelines of the championship, in the presence of Antonio Spinos, President of the International Karate Federation, and Rashid Al Ali, Vice President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations, where the meeting discussed The future of the game in Asia and everything related to the upcoming Asian championships in 2023-2024.
