Kuwait’s goals were scored by Ali Hussein in the 57th minute and Taha Yassin Al-Khunaisi in the 66th minute, while the Iraqi port goal was scored by Karrar Muhammad in the 89th minute from a penalty kick.

The Olympic Port Stadium can accommodate 30,000 spectators, and two training stadiums with a capacity of 400 spectators each are attached to it.

The Iraqi city of Basra is preparing to host the “Gulf 25” at the Basra International Stadium and the Olympic Port.

Al-Mina Stadium will host the matches of the second group, which includes the national teams of Qatar, the Emirates and Kuwait, along with Bahrain, the defending champion. The competitions of this group will start on January 7, 2023, with the Bahraini national team’s match against its Emirati counterpart.

While the Basra International Stadium, which has a capacity of 65,000 spectators, will host the first group matches, which include the teams of Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

This is the second time that Iraq hosts the Arab Gulf Cup after the first in 1979, and the title of its fifth edition was won by the owner of the land and the Iraqi team, led by the late coach Amo Baba, to whom Iraq owes winning the three titles that Iraq’s participation in the regional championship enjoys popularity and interest.
