The Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, the star of the English team Liverpool Football Club, praised the level and quality of services provided by the Rashid Center for People of Determination, and confirmed that the center was able to achieve a qualitative leap in its care for people of determination thanks to its treatment and rehabilitation programs. This came on the sidelines of his visit to the Rashid Center for People of Determination where he was welcomed by Ahmed Hashim Khouri, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Emirates Airlines for West Asia and the Indian Ocean, and founder of the Rashid Center for People of Determination, Ms. Mariam Othman, General Manager, and a number of the center’s students, teachers, and department managers.
During his visit, the player Mohamed Salah, who is currently in Dubai to participate in the “Dubai Super Cup 2022” tournament, toured all the center’s departments and its various classes. He was briefed on what the center offers in terms of capabilities and rehabilitation and treatment programs. He inspected the artificial intelligence unit in which the center employs technology and intelligence tools to serve and treat people of determination. Salah also visited the music room, kinetic art theater, and the sports halls of the center, he listened to an explanation about the methods of sports therapy offered to students. He also observed an array of student activities in vocational training workshops such as agriculture, carpentry, embroidery, and others aimed at developing and refining their skills. Within this context, Salah expressed his happiness at the visit and the students’ interactions with him and displayed their sports skills along with his. In return, the students of the Rashid Center for People of Determination expressed their exhilaration at the visit of the star Salah by presenting a set of performances that reflect their creative skills and talents in art and sports. He also participated with them in a football match.
And thus, Ahmed Hashim Khoury expressed his appreciation for the visit of player Mohamed Salah and the continuous support provided by athlete stars to the center. He said: “This visit reflects the positive effects that sports have on all segments of society, specifically people of determination, because playing sports is one of the most important ways to help people of determination overcome the challenges they face, and enable them to expand their horizons and maintain their health and psychological structure.” Khoury confirmed that the UAE has paid much attention to the sports field for people of determination, and has worked to sponsor them and develop their potential and capabilities in this field.
For her part, Mrs. Mariam Othman, Director General of the Center, expressed her appreciation for Mohamed Salah’s visit to the Rashid Center for People of Determination. And she said: “This visit carried a lot of positive energy that the star Mohamed Salah spread among the students of the center who interacted with him, highlighting the amount of love that the students of the center have for this player, who was able to engrave his name in golden letters on the pages of sports worldwide”. She praised Salah’s interaction with the center’s students, describing it as a reflection of the values of Arab societies without exception.
At the end of the visit, Ahmed Khoury honored the player Mohamed Salah, and awarded him the center’s memorial shield in appreciation of his visit, interaction, and his deep sense of social responsibility. Salah also presented a signed Liverpool shirt as a gift from him to the children of the center.
It is worth mentioning that the player Mohamed Salah leads the English Liverpool team in the “Dubai Super Cup 2022” tournament, which is organized in cooperation with Emirates Airlines, the Dubai Sports Council, and Al Nasr Sports Club, and that the matches will be held at Al Maktoum Stadium from the 8th to 16th of December, 2022.
