Moroccan Khadija El Mardi (weighing more than 81 kg) won the Women’s World Boxing Championship, which is being held in New Delhi, India.

The Moroccan champion won the gold medal after defeating her opponent from Kazakhstan, Kongibayeva Lazat, the world champion in 2016, in the final.

Khadija El Mardi, who used an offensive style, imposed her rhythm from the start by directing strong punches that confused her Kazakh opponent.

After this victory, the Moroccan champion confirmed her superiority in the heavy weight to her Kazakh competitor, after defeating her in the final match of the Mohammed VI International Boxing Cup, which was held last February in Marrakech.

Khadija El Mardi, who became the first Arab and African female boxer to win a gold medal at the World Championships, said: My ambition now is to raise the Moroccan flag high in the next Olympic Games.

She highlighted that this victory is a source of pride, especially for Moroccan women.
