At the end of the match, Rublev was able to gain his place in the semi-finals on Saturday to face world number one Carlos Alcaraz, after he scored a deserved victory by leading the first part, which went in a draw, but finally, Rublev won with a score of 7-6, while the second part was easier for Rublev, who won it quickly with a score of 6-4.
Rublev said: “We played a good match, and I’m satisfied with my performance, especially since I arrived here one day earlier. Borna and I managed to play a good match, especially because Borna was a great opponent, but I am proud that I managed to keep my calm temper. The thing that pleases me the most is the huge attendance of the audience and their high passion for sports and the championship.”
The championship competitions will continue on Saturday, December 17th, which will witness the matches to determine the fifth and sixth place between C’oric’ and Norrie, while the semi-finals will start with the match between Alcaraz and Rublev, followed by the match between Tsitsipas and Ruud, where the winners will qualify for the final match.
