“Zamalek” demands that its match with “Al-Mokawloon” be replayed and that the referee be referred for investigation

The committee in charge of managing Zamalek Club issued an official statement on Monday evening, demanding that the team’s match against Arab Contractors be replayed in the Premier League competitions.

On Monday evening, Zamalek tied with the Arab Contractors, 1-1, in the second round of the Premier League, in a match that witnessed controversial arbitration decisions.

The Zamalek Club said – in its statement – that an official complaint has been prepared to be submitted to the Football Association and the Club Association to preserve the club’s rights, explaining that the complaint will include all the arbitration decisions issued by Amin Omar, the referee of the match between Zamalek and the Arab Contractors.

Zamalek’s statement explained that the referee awarded an incorrect goal in favor of the Arab Contractors team after touching the ball with the hand of one of the team’s players. He also refused to award a valid penalty kick in favor of Zamalek, in addition to awarding Zamalek players several yellow cards.

In its letter sent to the Football Association and the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, Zamalek Club demanded that its match against the Arab Contractors be replayed, due to errors in the application of the law, which affected the result of the match, and that referee Amin Omar be referred for investigation, and prevented from managing Zamalek matches in the coming period.
