Following in the footsteps of Europe.. Japan is putting pressure on Apple and Google

Apple and Google are in trouble after a number of new laws in both Japan and Europe to put pressure on the two giants to allow users to download applications from outside their official stores.

Japan is pressing the two giants to allow users to download apps from outside their official stores.

And it approved a set of regulations that allow Google and Apple users to download side applications, similar to Android users. In addition to deleting applications that come installed by default on devices.

A move that could help lower app prices and increase competition among tech companies.

The Japanese move is no different from the European Digital Markets Act, which forced Apple to make some changes to iPhone applications.

Some of them will be implemented this year, for example, the new version of iOS will give iPhone users the ability to download applications from other storefronts.

According to a report by the Japan Times, 97 percent of Android users download apps from the Google Play Store and are not forced to do so.

In addition to the requirement to download applications from third parties, Tokyo rejects payments for games through the Apple Store, and requires payments to be made through third-party platforms as well, which Apple categorically rejects.
