Scientists create a new structure for the wings of drones

QNA:

Scientists from the Aviation Institute in Moscow, Russia, have created a cellular structure as a filling for the wings of drones. They see this innovation as promising in the production of long-range drones.

The scientists said: “This structure increases the durability and rigidity of the wings, and this innovation can also be used as a link in lining the three-layer structures.”

For his part, Andrei Kolpakov, a researcher at the institute, said: “Production speed is one of the main advantages of the technology. For example, it takes two minutes to prepare one plate using vacuum molding in the laboratory.”

Kolpakov indicated that the composition and shape of the cells can be changed according to the initial technical specifications of the drone, and in order to make the ideal shape of the structure, scientists use a set of automated programs. These cellular panels can be produced from the sheets by stamping or casting, which reduces manual labor and speeds up the process of assembling the wings of the drones.
