The US House of Representatives decides to ban “Tik Tok” on its employees’ devices

The US House of Representatives announced banning the “Tik Tok” application, owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, from all devices used by its members and employees.

According to the letter from the Office of the Managing Director of the House of Representatives: “Notice to all members and employees, the House Administrative Committee authorized the Office of the Managing Director for Cyber ​​Security to begin removing the social media service, TikTok, from all devices under the control of the House.”

It should be noted, he added, that council staff are prohibited from downloading the “TikTok” mobile application on any mobile devices in the council, and applications already installed must be removed “immediately.”

This decision follows a series of moves by US state governments to ban TikTok from government agencies, and US lawmakers put forward a proposal to implement a nationwide ban on the app.

Earlier, the US Senate approved a bill banning the installation of “Tik Tok” on government electronic devices.

It also prohibits the use of the famous application to create and display short videos by government employees in the states of Georgia, Texas, Alabama, North and South Dakota, and a provision to prohibit the use of government employees of the application was included in the United States budget proposal for the year 2023.
