Egypt. Mallawi Museum celebrates the National Day of Minya Governorate

Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities:

As part of the celebration of the National Day of Minya Governorate, the museum is organizing a temporary archaeological exhibition entitled: Farming in Ancient Egypt, March 18, 2023.

Professor Moamen Othman, Head of the Museums Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, explained that the exhibition will continue until April 28, 2023 AD, during which it will display 5 artifacts dating back to different eras, and shed light on the agricultural work that Minya Governorate is famous for, and they are a wooden model of three women who grind The grain and another model of a woman grinding inside a bowl with a large stick from the First Intermediate Period, and a braided basket of palm fronds to preserve baked goods that was used in agricultural and household work.

Professor Jihan Nassim, Director General of the Museum, added that the museum also organizes a number of guided tours inside the museum and technical workshops on crop cultivation, irrigation methods and water conservation, coinciding with the World Water Day.
