The head of the Turkish Health Tourism Association, Dr. Tharwat Tarzi Ar, said that during the year 2022, Turkey received more than a million tourists who came to perform hair transplantation operations.
Tarazi Ar told Anadolu Agency that the health tourism sector achieved good profits in 2022, and that the sector provided services worth about $4 billion.
He explained that half of the volume of transactions amounting to $ 4 billion in 2022 was achieved in the hair transplantation services sector.
The number of people who visited Turkey during 2022 to perform hair transplantation operations amounted to more than one million people, according to Tarzi R, while it is estimated that the value of foreign currency transfers for the aforementioned tourists amounted to two thousand dollars per person, at a minimum.
Terazi Ar said that foreign tourists also show great interest in health resort tourism, pointing out that the value of foreign exchange that was traded during the past year in the medical tourism sector exceeded the threshold of 10 billion dollars.
