Opening of an exhibition of archaeological seizures at the Prince Muhammad Ali Palace Museum in Egypt

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities

Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, inaugurated,

a temporary exhibition of antiquities at Prince Muhammad Ali Manial Palace Museum.

Waziri explained that the organization of this exhibition coincides with the celebration of the 119th anniversary of the construction of the palace.

He also added that the exhibition includes about 70 various artifacts that were seized by the Central Administration of Ports and Archaeological Units in Egyptian ports and ports.

Waziri noted that most of these artifacts are displayed for the first time, as they were seized at Egyptian ports, before being smuggled out of the country.

He added that the Supreme Council of Antiquities is witnessing an extraordinary boom in the presence of integration between its various sectors.

Waziri confirmed that there are other seizures of non-Egyptian artifacts that are being announced.

such as the delivery of 176 antique coins to four countries at the Egyptian Museum in Liberation.

He also pointed out that there are a number of archaeological projects being completed in the Islamic, Coptic and Jewish antiquities sector.

The temporary archaeological exhibition will last for a month, and among the exhibited pieces are those of the museum’s holdings, which were dismantled by the museum’s custody committee.

Among the most prominent pieces that are displayed are a silver jug ​​and basin of Princess Tawheed, daughter of Khedive Ismail, decorated with floral and geometric motifs.

And a bust of King Fuad I of white marble, and the cradle of King Farouk made of gilded wood and decorated with geometric and floral motifs.
