The Chinese ambassador visits the Maritime Commodity Festival

His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, visited the activities and competitions of the Sea Commodity Festival in its second session, which is being held at Al Sila City Beach under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, and organized by a committee Managing festivals, cultural and heritage programmes, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club.

The Chinese ambassador expressed his happiness at visiting the festival and the warm welcome he received from the organizers, pointing out that it made him feel at home and among his family, and that he was happy to be the first Chinese ambassador to visit Commodity City.

“I look forward to visiting Commodity City again in the future, and I will make sure that I do not come alone, as I will exchange culture, tourism and education between China and Commodity,” the Chinese ambassador said, urging Chinese citizens to come to Commodity for tourism.

The Chinese ambassador congratulated the organizers of the Maritime Goods Festival for its success, stressing that he could not wait for next year to visit the festival.

His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, was acquainted with the pavilions of the popular market and its various activities, festivals, the marine exhibition, the Majlis al-Nukhadha, the activities and competitions of the marine, sports, heritage and folk festivals, and watched part of the performances of the Abu Dhabi Folklore Band and theater activities.

He toured the pavilions of the participating authorities, including the Municipality of Al Dhafra Region, the Red Crescent Authority, the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences in Abu Dhabi Police, the Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center “Tadweer”, the Al Dhafra Shooting Club, and the Emirates Heritage Club.
