A Syrian theatrical performance at the Al-Din Festival in the Sultanate of Oman

The Directorate of Theaters and Music in the Ministry of Culture participates in the Al-Din Festival competition in the Sultanate of Oman, in its fourth local and first international edition, through the theatrical show “Naqiq .”

The script for the show “Naqiq” won first place in the Arab Theater Authority’s competition in 2020, entitled (Imagination and Writing Outside the Pattern), by the writer Rawaa Sonbol. It was also directed by Dr. Ajaj Slim over a period of two weeks on the stage of the Al-Hamra Theater in Damascus in October 2022, during which it received positive interaction. A large audience .

“Naqiq” embodies the suffering of the Syrian citizen during the terrorist war and the psychological effects and concerns it left behind, oscillating between fantasy and reality, to tell the story of a woman who lost her only son and was paralyzed as a result of a shell that fell in the garden when she took him there to spend some enjoyable time after her husband emigrated to a foreign country in search of… work, but this incident planted pain in her that turned into hallucinations and obsessions, and the events pass through the show until the bitter truth is revealed and the roles are reversed at the end of the show .

The show stars: Reem Zeino, Nada Al-Abdullah, Walid Al-Debs, Alice Rashid, and Enas Rashid .

The show competes with 24 theatrical shows from Arab and foreign countries, chosen from among 288 shows in the competitions of the festival, which will be held between the 22nd and 31st of this month, and carries the slogan “Welcome, world to the Sultanate of Oman.

260 guests will participate in the festival, during which 5 theatrical workshops will be held, aiming to discover and develop talents. It is an opportunity for participants to express themselves and discover their artistic skills, in addition to 8 dialogue sessions for interaction and exchange of experiences and knowledge among the participants .
