Egypt Encouraging partnership and twinning programs between Egyptian and African universities

Dr. confirmed. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt’s keenness to enhance joint cooperation with various African countries in all fields.

At the top of its priorities is cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research, given that they represent the locomotive of social and economic advancement.

He also made it clear that the political leadership attaches great importance to this file, which received great attention during the year 2022.

He pointed out that Egypt will spare no effort to support its African brothers, and Egypt will always extend a helping hand to its brothers in order to achieve development and renaissance for all countries of the continent.

The minister added that the total Egyptian grants allocated to the countries of the African continent are 2,317 grants.
It was divided into (1513 scholarships at the undergraduate level – 733 scholarships for postgraduate studies – 71 scholarships for studying Arabic).

These include: grants for cultural exchange programs, grants from the Ministry of Higher Education in the sub-committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, grants from Egyptian public and private universities, and grants from the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.

The minister indicated that Egypt provides its support to various countries of the continent, as Egypt hosts the headquarters of the Association of African Universities of North African Countries.

The minister stressed the importance of what Egypt is doing in terms of establishing the African Space Agency, which is about to complete the building.

Dr. said. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and spokesperson for the ministry, said that the ministry pays great attention to African cooperation, which is among its top priorities.

And that is by providing support to its brothers in the fields of higher education and scientific research, especially the two stages (bachelor’s and postgraduate studies) through all Egyptian universities.
