Palestinian president arrives in Egypt to meet with Egyptian President

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Egypt on Saturday, where he is set to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

During the meeting, Abbas will discuss the latest Palestinian developments and efforts exerted to revive the peace process and end the Israeli occupation, Palestinian Embassy in Cairo said in a statement.

During his two-day visit, Abbas is also scheduled to inaugurate the meeting between the Palestinian factions secretaries-general on Sunday, according to the statement.

The meeting will discuss Palestinian developments and means of restoring national unity and ending division in light of the escalating brutal Israeli aggression against Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Palestinian Ambassador to Cairo Diab Al-Louh said in a statement.

The meeting will also tackle the great efforts made by Egypt to achieve national reconciliation and put an end to the state of division, the ambassador added.
