The police of Mashta al-Helu district in the countryside of Tartous arrested six peopleBy excavating archaeology in the village of Baqutou.

The Ministry of the Interior stated on its Telegram channel that information had been received by the police of the Mashta al-Hilu district in the countryside of Tartous that there were several people excavating antiquities in the village of (Baqtu). Immediately, a patrol was sent to the place and arrested six people. An examination of the site revealed the presence of several Deep holes were dug in the place, and drilling tools and a truck with a huge generator on board were found.

The Ministry indicated that those arrested admitted to digging in search of antiquities, and three pottery pieces were seized in their possession. The digging tools and generator were confiscated, and the truck was seized, indicating that the pottery pieces will be sent to the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums to conduct technical expertise on them, and the arrested persons will be presented to the competent judiciary.
