5 members of the Kharijite militias linked to Al-Qaeda were killed in a planned military operation in the state of Galmudug.
The joint military operation of the Somali army and US forces in Africa “AFRICOM” took place early Tuesday morning in an area 35 km southeast of the city of Gilad.
The military operation resulted in the destruction of a large base of the Kharijite militias in the area from which they were planning to launch terrorist attacks.
The Somali army, in cooperation with international partners, continues to launch military operations to eliminate the remnants of the Kharijite militias.
