The Moroccan Foreign Minister affirms his country’s firm position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people

Friday, Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Foreign Minister, affirmed his country’s firm position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in a way that guarantees stability in the region.

Bourita said, during a joint press conference with Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, who is currently visiting Morocco, that Rabat seeks to reach a just and comprehensive peaceful solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, on the basis of international and Arab references, adding that Morocco rejects all actions. Unilateralism that would undermine the chances of peace, eliminate the horizon of a two-state solution, and fuel extremism and violence in the region.

For his part, the Palestinian official stressed the necessity of holding intensive consultations in order to formulate a unified Arab position with the aim of supporting and consecrating the Arab role regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, noting that contacts in this direction were being conducted with several Arab parties.
