General Directorate for Saudi Narcotics Control Spokesman Major Marwan Al-Hazmi said that GDNC patrols have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 6,072,291 amphetamine pills hidden in a shipment of sweets, citruses and nuts. The operation was carried out in cooperation with Omani police, and in coordination with the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
Al-Hazmi said that the smugglers, a Saudi national and a Syrian on a visit visa, have been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution.
