Ras Al Khaimah courts have registered 1,051 marriage contracts during 2023

Ras Al Khaimah courts revealed, The number of marriage contracts registered in the emirate during the past year 2023, It reached 1,051 marriage contracts, compared to 983 contracts in 2022, an increase of 68 marriage contracts.

Counselor Ahmed Mohammed Al Khatri, Head of Ras Al Khaimah Courts, said: According to the statistical data of the Department’s Marriage Contracts Section, the largest share of marriage contracts concluded between a citizen husband and a citizen wife was recorded at 648 marriages, representing 61.65% of the total registered marriages, followed by marriage contracts between non-Emirati spouses at 251 contracts. In addition to other separate marriages, 152 marriages.

Al Khatri pointed out that the number of marriage contracts between citizens increased by 10.76% during the past year, an increase of 63 contracts compared to the same period in 2022. According to the data, March recorded the highest number of marriage contracts during the year, which amounted to 104 contracts.

And he said: “Ras Al Khaimah’s courts currently have 33 certified legal officials who undertake the tasks of concluding and authenticating marriage contracts in the emirate, and they are distributed among the geographical areas designated for them in the emirate. Of them, 16 are authorized to marry citizens and residents of different nationalities. And 17 are authorized to marry citizens only.”
