Today, 22 people were killed and 52 others injured, in a passenger bus accident in northern Senegal.

The Senegalese ambulance teams stated, in a statement, that the bus was carrying 74 passengers when it overturned on the way to its daily destination, and added that the accident occurred in the village of Nguyen Sarr in the Loga region, killing 22 people and wounding 52.

At the beginning of this year, the Senegalese government announced a series of measures to reduce traffic accidents, including the ban on public transport of people between cities, from eleven in the evening until five in the morning (local time).

Road accidents are frequent in Senegal due to the poor condition of the roads, but this accident is one of the worst in the past few years in terms of the number of victims.
