The governor of the Krasnodar region in southwestern Russia, Veniamin Kondratiev, announced that a fire broke out in a diesel fuel tank in the Adler district of the tourist city of Sochi, but no casualties were reported.

Kondratiev said, on his Telegram channel: “A fire broke out in a diesel fuel tank in the Adler district of the city of Sochi in the early morning hours, and the area of ​​the fire was 96 square meters.”

He added: “According to preliminary information, there are no injuries… and there is no threat of the fire spreading, and the causes of the accident are being investigated.”

Earlier, the Russian Emergency Service reported that residents of the Adler district of Sochi reported a fire in the airport area and a fuel depot on Aviatsion Street.

In turn, the city airport press service announced to Sputnik that the airport has not stopped working and is still operating normally.
